Kate grabbed one small box off the shelff. She had been warned about this by her grandmother.
[Flashback]
The old woman sat, gazing down at the young child who sat, listening avidly. "This box contains all you will ever need. Take it ina time of peril."
{End of Flash back]
Kate stuffed a few candles into a small leather bag along with some sand and her box of herbs. She turned, ready. Nothing too incriminating.

He followed silently, leading her out to the forest. They walked for about an hour, til they came to the ruind of a small building. The destruction seemed to be from at least the last three years, though it was obvious no one had planned on rebuilding it.

Kate looked around, taking in the weather beaten stones and the trees that grew close to the building. "Why are you doing this?" she asked, holding her bag close.

They walked in, the stranger stopping momentarily in one corner, prying up a flagstone. "Quickly. Before they pick up our tracks."

He looked back before following, closing the trap door behind him.
They went down, into the cave system below the house, and indeed, half the town. He led her to a closed off room that he had prepared for just such an occasion. "You can stay here for the time being. I'll get you out of the area later," he noticed the look on her face, despondant, lost. "I won't let anything happen to you. And i'll get anything that need to be given out back to the village. No one suffers because of them."
