[]
It starts with a thwang, like someone flicked me in the forhead with a rubber band. I try to blink it away as if that would help. It doesn't. I brace myself, knowing if I don't, my legs will fail me, injuring me more. The room starts to grow dark and the voices fade. A dagger, burnt until it was red hot, crashes through my brain. The pain doesn't lesson as I shove the palm of my hand over the fire, trying to push it away. I feel my body shaking, and my breathing turns hard, but I don't care at the moment. I just want the pain to go away. The fire spreads, and it doesn't feel like a dagger anymore. My intire head hurts, and tears spring to my eyes, even if they don't fall. Adrer what seems like an eternity, it dulls. I force my body to still and my breathing to return to normal. The master continues teacher, it's only been a second or two. The aftershock is still thudding in harmony with my pulse, sending waves of pain to my skull, but not nearly as bad as the first. My body protests movement from it's convulsion, it wants me to rest. Instead, I look up and pretend nothing's wrong. Nobody noticed, and life goes on.
