Summary: Set in the time where Voyager is already stranded in the Delta Quadrant. Rogue, Angel, and Spike are all on board Voyager. Tuvok just died on an away mission and Rogue on her way to Chakotay’s quarters. And Spike is a junior tactical officer. Tom Paris declined the offer to be Voyager’s pilot, instead Angel is head pilot. Angel and Rogue were Starfleet officers, while Spike was a Maqui.
“Chakotay to Lieutenant Rogue, report to my office immediately,” said the intercom.
“On my way,” Rogue replied, thinking she was going to get a promotion. As she walked toward Chakotay’s office she walked past Angel and he smiled at her. Rogue shrugged off his smile and continued on her way to Chakotay’s office. Upon arriving, she saw Chakotay sitting at his desk while going through a data pad. He looked up and offered Rogue a seat.
“I’m going to go straight to the point. With Tuvok dead we’re short a head tactical officer and after reviewing all the personal files, both me and Captain Janeway, believe you are the best choice,” Chakotay finished.
“When did you want me to start?” Rogue inquired.
“Right now,” Chakotay answered. “Please report to the bridge.”
On the bridge……
Rogue started checking out her new station when Captain Janeway came in.
“Captain on the Bridge,” Rogue announced and everyone looked to the Captain.
“As you were,” Captain Janeway said and everyone resumed what they were doing. The Captain walked over to Rogue “Even though we lost a great head tactical officer I have every hope you well help us get through the Delta Quadrant.”
“Tuvok was a great leader and we shall mourn his sacrifice,” Rogue said respectively. The Captain nodded and took her seat in the captain’s chair.
Later when Rogue was off duty…..
Rogue sat in the mess hall, going over some data pads when someone sat in the seat across from her. Rogue looked up to see Angel, one of three vampires on Voyager.
“Can we trust Spike and the other Maqui?” Angel inquired.
“Of course we can trust them. They have helped us these past two years, except for Spike, we’ve had too many bad experiences with him,” Rogue replied. Angel gave a small laugh, knowing it was true. The young vampire was more trouble then anything else. As if sensing what Angel had thought, Rogue replied, “You’re still younger than me.”
“Don’t rub it in,” Angel joked good naturedly. They sat in a comfortable silence and Rogue continued to look over the files. The chatter of those around them were ignored.
“Hello their mates!” called the third vampire on the ship, Spike.
“Get out of here Spike,” Angel said, annoyed by his presence.
“You must have forgotten again that you don’t control a big law firm anymore,” Spike said with a smirk. Angel gave off a scowl towards Spike; who in turn, returned the favor with a deep-throated growl.
“Knock it off you two before I place you both in the brig,” Rogue warned, knowing that things would only escalate. Angel stopped and looked away from Spike.
“It was all the poof’s fault,” Spike whined.
“Spike leave now,” Angel said.
“Sorry Peaches, but free ship. I can be where I want,” Spike said smugly. Nelix noticed the tension in the air around the table of three vampire’s and walked over their with three bowls of leola root soup and put a big smile on as he approached. He placed the three bowls down in front of them
“As your moral officer I would suggest you have some of my Leola root soup. Because it is my duty to make sure everyone, on this ship, is happily getting along,” Nelix said with an even bigger smile. Angel, Rogue, and Spike put a sthingyful in their mouths, but did not swallow. And as soon as Nelix walked away they all spit it back into the bowls.
“I know vampires can’t taste food, but I want to know how we can taste this,” Spike said picking up the three bowls and disposing of them appropriately. Spike then left feeling satisfied, about pissing Angel off. As Rogue and Angel got up from their seats, the ship began to violently shaking.
