“Is everyone alright?”
“We’re fine,” Carter Grayson, Lightspeed Red said as the team limped in.
“You don’t fool me for an instant Carter Grayson. I…”
“What happened?” Captain Mitchell, Lightspeed’s commanding officer met the group in the hall before another word was spoken.
“We got our butts handed to us,” Joel Rawlins, Lightspeed Green Ranger. The figure watched as they were shown to the Conference room. The Titanium Ranger had done a number on them, but Captain Mitchell refused to let them use they’re full arsenal on him, because of who he was underneath.
Captain Mitchell’s son. The Pink Ranger’s brother. Ryan.
“You sure your alright?” She asked. Dana turned and smiled at her.
“We’ll be fine, Buffy,” fine, yeah. Until the next battle. Not going to happen, Dana, Buffy Summers, Vampire Slayer, thought to herself. She and Dana had met in Silver Hills during the ‘Countdown to Destruction’, Astronema’s final attack on the universe. She’d been hoping to escape the fighting after the battle with Angel that had ended in him being sent to hell, even when she signed on with Lightspeed, doing so only as support. She realized now that wasn’t going to happen.
With a resigned sigh, she headed to her quarters, retrieving the small stone Whistler had given her as she left Sunnydale.
‘Take it. You’ll need it.’
“I hate you so much, Whistler,” Buffy whispered, moving to Angela Fairweather’s lab. “You were looking for a power source, Ms. Fairtweather? I think I have one.”
Two days later.
“That’s enough, Ryan,” Buffy said, standing in front of the Rangers following their latest beating. “No more.”
“Are you going to stop me?” He demanded. Vypra was grinning evilly behind him.
“Yes,” Buffy said, bringing her new morpher, shaped very much like Ryan’s Titanium morpher, in front of her. “Guardian Power!”
Her uniform, for the most part, was more like the Titanium Rangers, save it’s white colouring and the fact it seemed to be made of the same material used for motocross racing, only infinitely stronger. Her visor was round, almost shield shaped; accenting the chest shield she now wore. Across her back was a sword. “Golden Guardian!” She saluted like the other Ranger’s did, more out of instinct than anything else. “Rescue ready!”
“A new Ranger?” Vypra gasped.
“It won’t do any good,” Ryan said. Buffy drew her sword, holding it in front of her.
“I’ve been asked to bring you in one piece Ryan,” Buffy said. “Not uninjured.”
“You think you can actually beat me?”
“You’re not Angelus,” Buffy whispered. “Your ass is so mine.”
“Confident, aren’t you?” Ryan sneered.
“She’s mine,” Vypra said, charging. Buffy barely moved, her sword slicing through the air, slicing through Vypra’s armour easily, bringing gasps from the other Rangers.
“We done playing?” Buffy asked. “’Cause, bored now.”
“We don’t want that,” Ryan said, charging forward, axe outstretched. Buffy charged to meet him, their weapons coming together hard enough to send sparks showering everywhere.
“I thought you were done playing?” Buffy quipped.
And their battle began in earnest.
He watched from the roof, a smile on his lips. “She’s back,” Whisatler whispered. “An’ I think Diabolico just shit ‘is pants.”
Skull Cavern
“Another one?” Diabolico snarled.
“She’s different from the other Rangers,” Jynxer noted. “There’s something else to her.”
“She’s just another problem to be dealt with,” Diabolico growled. “Permanently.”
