Tokusatsu is the television genre encompassing live action super hero shows, mostly those from Japan. These shows containt transformation devices, weaponary, martial arts, footsoldiers, assorted monsters and, at times, giant robots.
I may end up doing a series of these, using various BtVS characters. For now, enjoy this. For everyone.
RyuKenDo! Raijin!
“Ah, poopy,” Buffy muttered as she watched a lady walk out with the dress she had been eyeing.
“Well, guess you can’t impress Deadboy with that one,” Xander said, trying to hide his joy. Buffy scowled at him, looking at the brown paper bag in his hand.
“What’s that?” She asked.
“My costume,” he said, holding the bag up proudly. “Just call me the two dollar costume king, baby!” Buffy shook her head with a smile.
“May I help you?” the owner of the store said, walking over to them. Buffy looked at him.
“Uh, I hope so,” Buffy said. “I still need a costume.”
Ethan Rayne looked at the girl. He knew who and what she was. Ripper’s Slayer. Ordinarily, he would have given her a costume to leave her helpless and sit back and watch. Janus, however, had other plans for the girl, and had, in a rare act of direct interference, told him EXACTLY what he wanted, which was all Ethan Rayne needed.
His orders were to empower the girl. And he had just the idea.
“Wait right here,” Ethan said. “I think I may have just the thing,” he vanished out back, pulling out a box he had prepared. Within was a small item in blue, yellow and white, with what seemed to be a face on it’s front with red eyes and a plastic key. Smiling he carried the box out to the main store. “All you’ll need are these items and come cloths from home. It’s from a TV show in Japan. I’m not quite sure one what it’s for,” an out and out lie. Ethan had researched thouroughly on exactly what the show was about. And had decided this weapon was perfect.
“Well…” the Slayer said. “I guess it’ll do. I can’t think of anything else.”
“Wonderful,” Ethan said. “Let’s get you rung up shall we?”
Halloween Night
“Well, all this for me, poof?” Spike asked as his ecsorcelled ‘demon’s and vampires surrounded Xander (who was a soldier at that point), Angel and Cordelia. “You shouldn’t have.”
“I didn’t,” Angel growled out, slipping his demonic mask on.
“Oh, well in that case I’ll take them by force,” Spike said, waving his troops on. “That should draw the Slayer out.” As the demons moved forward, Buffy walked out. Dressed in a navy blue jacket, white shirt and jeans with her blonde hair tied back, she held in her hand an odd sword. In her mind, however, she was five years older, who had seen this happen before. She had seen Cordelia and Xander Turned, Angel dusted and, in the ensuing years, Willow’s mind break down, leaving the once intelligent red head mindless and insane.
It was not going to happen again.
‘Are you sure interfering like this is wise, aibou?’
“I’m not letting this happen again,” Buffy whispered, holding the sword out in front of her. Grabbing the bottom, she pushed the grip up, revealing a keyhole behind the face. “GekiRyuKen!”
“Wot’s this then?” Spike asked as Buffy pulled a small grey item with a gold face on it out, flicking a key out of it.
“RyuKen Key!” She entered the key into GekiRyuKen, closing it up. Twin wings opened from within the sword. “Activate!”
‘Change! RyuKenDo!’
“GekiRyu henshin!” She yelled, bringing the blade in front of her, holding it with two hands. A blue light flew from the blade, becoming a dragon hat hovered above her for a moment before flying down again. She spread her arms as the dragon hit her chest, resulting in a blinding flash. When everyone’s eyes had cleared, the Vampire Slayer had been replaced.
In her stead stood blue, yellow and white armoured warrior, her face hidden behind a blue visor.
“I’ve seen this happen before,” RyuKenDo said. “I will not allow it to happen again.” She held the sword above her head. “RyuKenDo!” She swung it front of her, then straight out behind her, other hand extending towards the demons in front of her. “Raijin!”
“Wot the bloody hell?” Spike demanded. “Kill her!” The demons charged, only to meet GekiRyuKen part way. Something had to give. It ended up being the demons.
“Here’s where it ends, Spike,” RyuKenDo said, drawing a Key from her Key Holder. “Final Key! Activate!”
‘Final Blade!’
“Madan Slash!” RyuKenDo declared, charging forward as the blade glowed a bright blue, slicing through Spike. The vampire stood for a moment, shocked at the sudden burst of pure power the Slayer had. “In the darkness of the night,” RyuKenDo whispered. “Sleep.” Spike exploded into dust as Giles ended the spell and everyone went back to normal.
Or so it seemed.
Next morning
Buffy quickly went through her school gear. Books, history homework, killer outfit. “I think that’s everything,” she said to herself.
‘Aren’t you forgetting someone, aibou?’ Buffy smiled as she picked up GekiRyuKen’s sheathed form, slipping him into her hand bag.
“How could I forget you, GekiRyuKen?” she said as she walked out. Yes, she thought. Things had changed in Sunnydale. And definitely for the better.
Outside of time
Janus, God of Chaos, laughed out loud as he watched his night’s work reduce the schemes planned for the Slayer by several of the Higher (and Lower) Powers shatter, in particular, the First’s plan to use her to enter the mortal plain. With the amount of potential power RyukenDo held, Glory would be a speed bump when the time came. Which suited Janus just fine. He never did like that bitch.
Buffy, on the other hand…well, the girl was quite the Chaos raiser herself, although on a slightly lower scale. Janus liked having her around.
Maybe he’d offer her a job later. After all, she owed him one. He’d just saved her life.
